Oakland

Oakland’s lovely hillside neighborhoods and lively shopping districts draw residents to the East Bay's largest city, an exciting, vibrant, urban community. It’s easy to enjoy a wide variety of year-round outdoor activities in Oakland. Lake Merritt, located in the heart of the city, offers a 3.4-mile walking path, picnicking, sailing, and kayaking. Redwood and Joaquin Regional Parks encompass stately forests of 150-foot coast redwoods and provide miles of hiking, jogging, and horseback-riding trails. Anthony Chabot Regional Park offers golfing, an equestrian center, hiking, bicycling, and fishing. For sports fans, Oakland is home to the Oakland Raiders, Oakland Athletics, Golden State Warriors, and the Golden Gate Fields racetrack. Oakland residents have plenty of public transportation options, including Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), buses, ferries, and casual carpools. Oakland International Airport is serviced by more than 10 major airlines.

Oakland’s different neighborhoods have distinctive architecture ranging from Storybook, Victorian, Eastlake and Mission Revival to mid-century ranch and sleek contemporary setting each neighborhood apart from one another. There are only four Eichler developments in the East Bay and one of them can be found in the Sequoyah Heights neighborhood.
